Life is about choices, and those choices should reflect on your spiritual growth during your journey in this lifetime. The Yin Yang is the perfect example of balance. You always want to strive to be at the line where both colors touch. It is not good to venture too far in the shadows or in the light.
Light
When you are striving to be good, perfect or even live in a world where you are spoon feed you lack the ability for spiritually growth. Allowing ignorance and naive to settle in. Challenges are ways to give yourself the opportunity to look within and see what you’re capable of overcoming.
Shadows
When you are in constant struggle and in pain within, you are self sabotaging. Allowing the flesh to make decisions and ignoring the spiritual lessons that were presented to you.
Many people find it very difficult to see pass the mirage or pain when they are overwhelmed.
Here are some steps to recognize where you are in the spectrum of the yin yang symbol. Seat in a quiet place and reflect. Where are you currently?
Light
1. Are you handed things without having to work for it?
2. You do not have to worry about anything?
3. You constantly help others, thinking you’re a good person?
4. You don’t have to worry about no one else?
If you answer yes, to any one of the questions, ask yourself why?
Reflect on your behavior. Do you take it for granted, are you seeing the truth behind the lie.
Shadow
1. Are you always complaining?
2. Does it seem anything you do is always going wrong?
3. You picked up a habit that causes self harm?
4. Are you overwhelmed with worries?
If you answer yes, to any one of the questions, ask your self why?
Reflect on the behavior. Is there an emotion that is the driving force of either of the questions you answer?
Let me give you an example:
Let’s say, you are a wonderfully giving person and you just love making people happy. So you constantly serve them or offer unasked help. I am not saying you can’t help someone or helping is bad. I am explaining if you are over doing it, to the point that you identify as a giver and people are already expecting it? Does it bring you anxiety if you don’t help or give, because you think they may end up hating you? Do you feel important when you help someone? You would be considered too far in the light. Because you think your actions are good deeds, but it overrides your own needs. Being blinded of why you are excessively helping could be numerous reasons but usually the core reason, it is how you feel love. Through your journey of seeking the missing piece within your chest you wavered off course and found yourself swimming in the sea of people pleasing.
Another one:
If you take from people (not stating your stealing) and never give in return.
Such as: controlling the conversation to talk about yourself, not going to other people's event but expect them to come to yours, making others go out of their way for you, not considering other people’s s emotions or situation as yours always overrule others, and etc. This overruling caused you to be viewed as a very selfish person. Not being aware of other people’s emotions or situation can lead to broken or ruined relationships. This is the shadow side. Basically, the reality you live in, is that the world revolves around you. However, there are various reasons why you can transform to this type of person, but it is a high probability that all you want is to be seen.
Emotions/ Traumas tend to be the main cause of anyone going too far to one side of the Yin Yang symbol. There is always a negative effect when you tread too far on either the light or dark side.
Everyone’s challenge is to overcome their traumas with peace!
How to go about managing or overcoming an emotional trauma that is difficult. It is all by seeking growth, and reflecting thyself that is the start of a healing ❤️🩹 journey.
Majority of time these are the questions you should ask:
Why did that trauma happen?
What did you need to learn from it?
How did it change you?
Was it your lesson or another person's lesson?
Did the Trauma happen to cause a change or movement within you or around you?
Being balanced is a constant journey because there is always spiritual growth, and there is a never-ending enlightenment. It all goes back to the Mind, Body and Soul. If you are actively caring for all three and appreciate the hardship and the blissful moments, then you’re much closer to the line of the yin yang symbol. You just don’t want to tread to far from the line, where you will be overwhelmed by the shadows or blinded by the light.
